Music is one of the most important parts of getting and staying motivated. Find some songs that get your adrenaline pumping and listen to them right before your big set. Music can greatly increase your motivation and and performance. A kick ass song combined with smelling salts and a little grunting is the best way to set PRs.
I find it helpful to create a specific playlist for max effort attempts, and another playlist for assistance work. For the max effort playlist, pick songs that make the hair on the back of your neck stand up and give you goosebumps. Having the right music can make or break your set.
Lifting music all comes down to your specific taste, but generally, heavy metal and hardcore seems to be the best music to get hyped to. Below I will list some bands and songs that I listen to regularly in the gym, that have helped me greatly. I will keep this list fairly short, because I could probably go on forever.
I put together a YouTube playlist consisting of metal and hardcore, both new and older songs. Really good shit. These songs get my adrenaline flowing and I hope they can do the same for you. If you feel like something’s missing from the playlist, please go ahead and add it. Use this link and you’ll be able to add to the playlist. Cheers.
